The mission of Allen County Special Olympics is to provide year-round Olympic type sports training and competition opportunities for children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities residing in Allen County, Ohio.

Athlete Benefits

By participating, athletes gain courage and confidence, experience joy, share gifts, skills and friendship with fellow athletes, volunteers, family and the community.

Eligibility

Athletes must be at least 8 years old and identified by an agency or professional as having one of the following conditions: intellectual disability, cognitive delays as measured by formal assessment, or significant learning or vocational problems due to cognitive delay that requires or has required special instruction. All new interested athletes MUST have a NEW Medical Form - April 1, 2017 (the form is 5 pages long) on file to participate. The physicals are good for 3 years and must be on this form. The forms are available at https://www.scbdd.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/OHIO-medical-and-release-form-2017.pdf This is a new form. Please be sure you have the correct one. All physical renewals must also be on this form..
